Walter Payton, one of the youngest players at 23, was voted the most valuable player in the NFL in 1977. Chicago Bear running back set a remarkable history full of records in the NFL book.
The fourth NFL player selected in the NFL draft was Payton, who always made records and set a legacy after him. Throughout his career, he played 190 games and has 16,726 yards and 110 touchdowns. But it sounds weird that Payton missed only one game.
In the rookie season, he missed one game because of his fractured ankle. Payton wants to play, but his coach refuses because he does not want to risk his health.
As Payton said,
“It’s not about money. It is not about statistics. It’s about the romance kindle by playing the game the way it was suppose to be play.”
Walter Payton was known for his incredible durability throughout his career. He only missed one game due to injury in his 13-year career with the Chicago Bears.
This happened during his rookie year when he suffered a sprained ankle and was held out of a game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
